Overdrive Warranty

At Garage Therapy, we stand by the quality of our overdrives and guarantee them to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase.

What’s Covered?

If a defect arises within the warranty period, we will repair or replace the overdrive unit (at our discretion) after inspection. This warranty applies to overdrives that:

  • Have been installed on the same vehicle since purchase
  • Have been used with standard engines and gearboxes
  • Do not show signs of damage due to incorrect installation, lack of lubrication, overheating, or improper oil use

What’s Not Covered?

This warranty does not cover:

  • Shipping and transport costs for warranty claims
  • Costs associated with removal or reinstallation of the overdrive
  • Transfer case gear noise (which can be caused by worn transfer case gears, not the overdrive itself)
  • Corrosion of bronze components due to incorrect oil use
  • Any overdrive used with non-standard engines or gearboxes

How to Make a Warranty Claim

  1. Contact Us First – Before returning any unit, you must contact Garage Therapy to discuss the issue at sales@garagetherapy.com.au. If your claim qualifies, we will provide a Warranty Return Approval document.
  2. Submit Your Claim in Writing – Include the overdrive serial number, proof of purchase, and a detailed description of the issue to obtain a claim number.
  3. Return the Unit (at Your Expense) – Ship the overdrive to us following the shipping instructions provided in your Warranty Return Approval document. We will not accept any returns without prior approval.
  4. Inspection and Resolution – Once the unit arrives, we will inspect it. If the issue is deemed a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace the unit and refund your return shipping cost upon presentation of a valid receipt.

Once repaired or replaced, we will return the overdrive to you, freight prepaid.
